Felt good entire race.  I didn't push myself because of how horrible I felt during Provo 1/2 marathon 2 weeks ago. -- (and not too mention that on mile 3 during Provo I tripped and fell and skinned my knee.. skinned knees hurt more when you are an adult.)  I also changed from doing gel to blocks.  So much better pina colada is delicious.

Good run but slow.  I waited until the rain stopped but I still wore too many clothes and was hot.  Bathroom stop around 5 miles and shed some clothes -much better.  Ran usual neighborhood loop then up to park and down Wasatch.  One steep downhill.  Felt soreness in upper thighs and bottom Two steep uphills.  Ran both of them.  Felt strong running the second hill at mile 8.  Listened to def leppard,  daughtery, and linkin park.  I can sure run faster with music.

Changed shoes back to Asics because of blisters.  Beautiful cool day. Ran neighborhood, then Wasatch, Dimple Dell to Draper Park.  Felt strong in the end, ran as hard I could last mile stretch to James's house where I parked the car.

I am a little sore but feet feel great.  No blisters! Used balgo socks.

 Average pace: 6.4 mph (9:21 min/mile).

Hope this is going to be fast enough to qualify at St. George. I am running faster than last year and I was only 3 minutes off.  Well see.

Good run but sore and tired in the end.  Felt like quiting at mile 18 but keep going.  I think it was the heat.  I left at 8:30 run the neighborhood for 6 miles with a pace of 6.3 mph.  Ran to park and then out Wasatch to mouth of canyon-- slower pace with hills @ 6.0 mph.  Down 9800 south @ 6.5 mph.  Started to feel very warm!! Stopped at Library for drink and bathroom break.  Water was so cold!!!!   I wished I could put my hole body in!!!  Down 13th to Draper park, feeling sluggish and warm -- very slow 5.6 mph.  Draper park -- DRINK and around park @ 6.1 mph.

AIDS: mixture of  cliff bars and jelly beans. Liked jelly beans the best. Hated the feel of cliff bars in my pocket and couldn't eat them fast enough.

Average pace: 6.2 mph.  This is 2 miles per hour faster than last year.

Well, this is it.  Last long run before St. George.  I hope I can do fast enough for Boston.

I slept in today.  I ran at 12:30. Warm but not too bad.  I was trying to work through being hot because I looking at the weather and looks like the end of St.George is going to be warm!  Ran marathon pace the last half. Legs feel good. I just hope I can hold the pace long enough to qualify for Boston.

I had no idea it was going to rain.  When my dad, brother and I got on the bus at 4:00 am (yes the very first bus, my brother wanted the early bird specials!!) it was warm in St. George.  I was worried about it being a hot race.  Then about 5:45 it started to sprinkle and then it started to pour and it never stopped!!!

It was close I only qualified for Boston by 1 min and 59 secs! I knew it would be close.

I started out slower than planned not on purpose but it was so dark I could not see very well and I got a little nervous about falling and then after about 1/2 mile I started feeling comfortable and picked up the pace.  Until about mile 7, I was running at a great pace (7.6-7.8 mph) and then the Vejo hill, I started slowly down, my legs just were losing strength.  About mile 13, back up to a great pace 7.4-7.6. Mile 18  slowing down again but I was able to hold it enough to keep my average at 7.0.- just enough to qualify!

I was glad it was over --soaking wet but felt like I was strong in the end!  New Goal:  I have not idea yet ..Give me a week!

Ran the 5 mile neighborhood loop.  First run after St. George. (I know I waited awhile).   Felt good except for slight tenderness in the arch of my left foot.  Could be left over from marathon or the new shoes.   I remember this same foot feeling happening a week after last year marathon. Anyway, I got new shoes after the marathon because of huge blood blisters on the sides of my feet.  The running store guy said I probably needed a shoe with a wider toe box so now I am running in saucony.  I like to neon green and gray color.

Goal for 5 mile: 8:30 pace

Goal to increase run to 7 miles/day x 3 with long run on Sat.

This my new goal before January and half to start training for Boston.

Also, I noticed when I ran in the afternoon, I have what feels like a rock in my stomach.  I need to pay attention and adjust when and what I eat.   --hence maybe not a asiago cheese bagel right before a run!

Slower run than yesterday.  Neighborhood run - more downhill today with the extra mile.  I wasn't as strong running uphill today-  I just didn't push it as hard.  After mile 4, I could feel my blood blisters rubbing! Shot! I really like the color of these shoes! - plus the arch of right foot is still bothering me.  I work 4 hours tonight and I am going to wear my asiacs and see if that feels any better.  Personally I like running in the morning better- not hot, not rock gut but sleeping in sure has felt wonderful!!

It was a beautiful run in Island Park.  I was finally able to go around 5:00 when the boys came back from fishing.  The temperature was cool with a little bit of wind.  I ran from the cabin to the Elk Creek turn off and back.   Feet felt good.. . Saucony w/out insoles.  Not as fast as I would like to be .. I chock it up to altitude!!!

Another great run in Island park. Warmer today.  Faster pace as well probably because I knew I was only going 3.  I read in Runners World that the brain automatically slows the pace down when you know you are going further and in order to go faster you have to push yourself to get over the hold back.

Should have run today.  The boys didn't get back from fishing until 5:00pm.  I just felt tired and lack of energy to go probably from too many late nights/ early mornings and not being in my own bed.  We go home tommorrow.  I wish the weekend looked promising for running but I am babysitting my brother-in-law's children including their 2 mo. old baby-- unfortunately no running and no sleep!

Well, I was finally able to run today.  I don't know what happened yesterday .. time just got away from me.  Today was around the neighborhood 6 miles.  I left around 8:45.  Cool weather, no sun.  It was nice.  I like to be cool rather than warm.  The sun started peaking over the mountains around 9:35 just at the end of the run.  I sometimes can't wait for the day when all my children will be in school and I could go about this time most of the time. -- only 3 more years!!

Terrible run -- yucky!  I was slow, hot and major stomach cramps!! I was going for 6 miles but ended up walking the last .7.  I did  the Wasatch run. Ran up Pepperwood hill Drive way too fast when I reached the top I felt sick, hot and could hardly.  I thought I would recover on the down on Wasatch but I never recovered.  I just felt sick the entire time-- and now I want to lay down and take a nap but I got to go make brownies for  a Halloween party tonight.  I guess the lesson learned is don't eat so much for lunch, absolutely no apples- hence the source of the stomach cramps,  remember that 72 degrees is summer weather and dress for it ie shorts and tank not short sleeves, and DRINK MORE WATER!!!!
